Extreme knitting
On October - 9 - 2007

There are many who consider runway fashion an art form rather than a suggestion of what you should actually wear. And sometimes, we really hope that’s the intent. As a concept, Giles Deacon’s Fall 2007 knitwear is fabulous. Knit with dyed wool top from Wingham Wool Work using broomstick-sized needles, each piece must weigh as much as the sheep it came from. Can you imagine wearing one of these sweaters? A scarf might be nice and cuddly though. And a really quick knit, if you’ve got a couple of brooms you can maneuver.

That poor girl looks like she’s about to topple over like a badly built Jenga tower! That thing must weigh a ton…

No, no, you’ve got it all wrong! They use the model’s legs to knit the thing!
