Judy’s Magic Cast On

Posted by adminnie On August - 8 - 2007

Many of us like to do toe up socks.  There are a gazillion ways to start a toe-up sock, but this one is magic.  Hence the name, Judy’s Magic Cast On.  According to the pictures, this could be used for both the 2-circular method, or DPN’s.

This tutorial does assume that you are familiar with knitting toe-up socks in general, but it’s very thorough and precise.  She even links her email if you have any questions.

Oh, oh, oh, it’s magic!  (sorry for the lame 70’s reference, I couldn’t resist)

I lurve this cast-on. I’ve been using the method that starts with a slipknot, which leaves a slightly unsightly (say that 5 times fast) bump on the toe. I just ran across this non-slipknot method a few days ago and I’m so excited to use it. Genius, I tell ya!
