Charity: Roo
This is a bit OT, but we at the Lime & Violet evil empire love us some dogs, and think this one is worth mentioning.
This is Roo:

Roo is a big sweetie, with a big problem. He hurt his knee to the point that he needs a very expensive surgery. His owner is fund-raising any way he can, but he needs your help, so that Roo can run and chase sticks again.
Here’s the bonus incentive for y’all. If you forward your receipt to Miss Violet (you can remove any personal info if you like, we know how Teh Crazy can be on the innernets) at violetATlimenvioletDOTcom (put in appropriate symbols where needed), you’ll get a chance for every dollar donated to win this:

Three skeins of Sasquatch, at 425 yards per skeins, in the one-of-a-kind colorway, Roo. That’s enough for 3 pairs of socks (if you have really big feet, i can get a pair out of 2/3 of a skein, myself), or a delish shawl. Hurry, though, Miss V will be drawing next Tuesday, June 10th.

I made a donation to Roo, I couldn’t help myself. I had a kitteh named Max who had (in addition to psychiatric issues that required psychotropic meds) diabetes and I know what having a huge vet bill can do to a family. Thanks for championing the cause!

I would love to be able to help with Roo’s expenses, but unfortunately I have a pit bull with medical problems myself. Our Bitsy had 4 knee surgeries, mast cell tumors, and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever before she succumbed to cancer in her chest. We got a puppy, Bunny, and after 1-1/2 years she started having seizures. She is on 3 medications daily and we are happy to do that. But it eats into our retirement budget. I will send my best wishes and prayers for Roo’s recovery. Good luck!
