Shawl of the Week: Antarctic

Posted by meg On July - 15 - 2008

antarctic

Lace needn’t always be full of feather, flower or leaf motifs. Sometimes a geometric, modern design can be just as lovely. This interpretation of snow falling on mountains in the polar starlight may be just right for the knitter who wants lace without flower or frill. Antarctic, by Kalinumba, requires just 600 – 700 yards of laceweight merino for a wide triangle shawl. The English version of the pattern is available as a download via Ravelry. For the German version, visit the designer’s blog.
