Heads Up: The Knitter
On January - 8 - 2009
Have you heard about the latest UK magazine sensation? Launching today, it’s The Knitter.
Available both in the UK and abroad (Borders or Barnes & Noble for those of us in the U.S.), this first issue looks decidedly delicious. As if that wasn’t good enough, Ann & Kay of Mason-Dixon fame are running a contest on their blog. Check it out here for your chance to win a year’s subscription.

I had a look at this magazine earlier today, and I have to admit it did very little for me. There’s more here for the ‘classic’ knitter that those interested in anything a bit different, dare I say it ‘fashion forward.’ I like Knit.1, but it’s not easy to get hold of in the UK and they’re no longer accepting subscriptions. I would LOVE a similar magazine to be launched here.

If that cover sweater is any indication of what the designs are like, I MUST find that magazine.

I can’t seem to find this magazine yet. When I called Barnes and Noble they didn’t have it yet. Bummer. Does anyone know where I might find it here in the States?

I’ve looked at 3 Barnes and Noble stores in the SF Bay Area without any luck. They don’t know anything about it. I even checked Barnes and Noble online.

I’ve checked all the BN stores in the greater Seattle area, and no one seems to have it. Borders up north was not helpful either. Does anyone else know where I can find this magazine?

Hi there, I look after the overseas distribution for the Knitter and it takes around a month to get over to the US from the UK. It went on sale there last Friday in selected B&N, Borders and Joann Etc stores so I’d grab one before they sell out!

I’ve been trying to track down “The Knitter, Issue One” to no avail. Borders nor Barnes and Noble do not have it and can’t seem to find it when they research the internet. The Knitter’s website also does not respond to inquires. How do I get a copy of this? It looks great.

I was able to snag a copy of this a week or two ago at the local Borders — but there were only two copies sitting there. I’m assuming they’re selling out quickly, being the new kid on the block and all.

The first issue of The Knitter is still available in some Borders, B&N, Joann etc and Books-a-million stores but is selling out quickly. The second issue is out 6th March in the US.
