sheep + circuitry = Cooooool

digital music with a twist

Over at createdigitalmusic.com, a couple folks got some Rambouillet wool, handmade sheets of felt, and etched their own circuitboards to make this awesome wooly calculator that runs on a USB port.

The discussions about it range from geek awe to disdain for the chemicals used in making the circuitboards, but what I’m imagining is the fact that if you can make a felted calculator, you could totally make a felt robot, or stereo speakers, or an mp3 player, if you had the circuitry/guts.

So c’mon, electronic engineers out there — let’s see what you can do!  Wooly Geeks, unite!
