You know I love me some armadillos. Now you, too, can knit one of your very own, thanks to the brilliant mind behind de punto blog.
Apparently, her boyfriend loves the little dillomonsters, and was begging for one as a pet (an argument oft heard around L&V HQ, by the way), and she came up with Don the Dillo as a compromise….and offers us all the pattern on her blog for free.

just to let everyone know, we keep informing Miss V that the little buggers carry leprosy, and while some of her parts are not as functional as she may wish, we still prefer her with all of them attached.

Not that Emma isn’t looking mighty tasty these days, now that she’s as big as a house and could probably feed us all over here at HQ for *months*.

Is it totally wrong that I first read the title as, “Don the Dildo”? And is it more wrong that I was slightly disappointed when I realized it was an ugly animal and not what I thought?

I saw the same thing!! made me look…It was a happy visual confusion for a minute. I’m so happy to see this awesome pattern. Sharon, my great friend died a few years ago. I cherish all the different armadillos I have scattered around my house-they were her favorite iconic dream image. This little guy will have a very special place on her altar. Thanks so much.
